The CLASP Teaching Committee stimulates and coordinates efforts to reflect upon post-secondary teaching and curriculum, including the design and promotion of inter-and multi-disciplinary area studies curricula. As needed, the Teaching Committee collaborates with the Outreach Committee to work on broader K-16 issues and with the Language Instruction Committee to support teaching-related matters pertinent to less-commonly-taught languages.

Duties of the Teaching Committee chair and members include:
  • Coordinate workshops at professional meetings
  • Produce and/or compile curriculum resources, often informed by above-mentioned workshops
  • Solicit syllabi and other curriculum resources from members
  • Make resources available through the CLASP website
  • Manage the CLASP Junior Faculty Teaching Award
